The past week has seen me up and out at 6.40am on four mornings, ready to take on the challenge of an early morning class in the gym.
It has been my first week back in 10 months! This has been partly due to a bit of nervousness- it’s true, the longer you leave something like this, the harder it is to step back into it!
I must admit I was very nervous as I set up my Spin bike and my legs did feel very heavy during that first session. The first HIIT class back wasn’t the best for me but by the end of the week I was really enjoying being back. Over the course of the week I steadily got back into the routine and now I’m really looking forward to next week’s classes!
That first step, the booking and commitment to the first session and then walking in to the studio for the first class was definitely the hardest, but once it was done, it was done.
If you are nervous or struggling to make that move back into any activity, whether exercise or anything else, after the months of lockdown and restrictions, please take heart and just make that first step.
You won’t regret it!
